Darien "Craig" Small in Police Custody in Howard County

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

A man going by the name Craig, actually Darien Craig Small, was arrested about midnight April 27, 2010 in Columbia.

Small had been operating a photography studio in Baltimore for a few months, and just opened a second location in Laurel last month. One or more people who had paid him money for studio use or other services and subsequently unable to contact him again filed for criminal warrants, and when his location was known for a brief window, the police were able to apprehend him.

People were alerted when it was discovered that he has a very long history of running photography scams in several states, in the $100,000's. Scams allegedly included taking payments for shooting at kid's sporting events, homeschool events, and weddings. (Even using a temporary website taking orders for reprints from friends and family and never delivering anything at all, even to the bride.) He often asks to barrow equipment, ask for help doing events and doesn't return or pay other photographers.

His current activities in Maryland he was using http://Great-Studios.com.

Small is about 5'9", medium-dark complexion, about 50, and speaks with a slight lisp.

Anyone who has had any business dealings with Darien Craig Smalls is invited to quickly contact the Howard County Commissioner. (410) 480-7720
